Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Amrit Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He holds a Ph.D. in Nano Convergence Engineering from Jeonbuk National University, Republic of Korea. His research focuses on advanced nanomaterials for energy storage and conversion technologies, including supercapacitors, metal–air batteries, water electrolysis, and fuel cells. Dr. Lohani has strong expertise in electrochemical testing, spectroscopic and microscopic characterization, nanomaterials synthesis, and device fabrication.
He has published in top-tier international journals such as Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Advanced Energy Materials, journals of Materials Science A, etc. Dr. Lohani has supervised graduate thesis research, secured competitive national and international grants, and contributed to multiple industry-collaborative research projects in Korea and Nepal.
Dr. Lohani currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator on two major funded projects, including the World Bank & Parley “Waste to Wealth: Plastic-Free Himalayan Rivers to Advanced Functional Materials” initiative and an AOARD-funded research project on rare-earth-doped nanostructured carbon materials. He was awarded the Research Dream Award from Jeonbuk National University in 2023 in recognition of his research excellence.
